Event at a Glance

• Date & Time: Sunday, Sept 27, 2026 @ Approx 12:00 - 6:00 PM

• Where: Along 44th and 45th Street (between College Ave and Forest Ave)

• Street Closure: Approx 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM (setup/teardown buffer)
  – Barricades at cross streets; emergency access maintained.

• Music: Sixteen performers rotating throughout the afternoon (final set times posted on the website). Each set is 45-60 minutes.

• Party Pod: The City of Des Moines ‘Party Pod’ may be on-site, including games.

• Food Trucks: TBD, but food trucks are expected during the event.

 

Street Access & Parking

• The streets will be closed, which provides a safe walking space for the audience. 

• We request you move vehicles off 44th/45th Street before 11:00 AM. We recommend parking on nearby side streets if you’ll need to drive during the closure window.

• Resident access: City rules require resident access to the street during this event, but for the safety of all, please plan for no thru-traffic on 44th/45th during 11–7. Deliveries/ride-shares should meet you on side streets or walk the items to your house.

• Barricades: We’ll place and assume the cost of barricades at Forest Ave and College Ave. Please let us know if you need temporary access.

 

Music, Sound & Schedule

• WPNA has a sound permit for the day. Amplified music will run noon–6 PM with 15 minute overlap between sets. 

• Noise returns to normal neighborhood levels by 7 PM after teardown (but likely closer to 6pm).

 

Info Booth & Restrooms

• Information Booth: located near the corner of 45th & College Ave near the church. 

• Portable Restrooms: Placed near 45th & College and/or 44th & College.

 

Trash, Recycling & Clean-Up

• We request host homes (and anyone else!) provide a waste bin (thank you, host homes!). We will provide you with a 95 gallon bin liner to keep your trash bin tidy.

• Street spot clean will occur during 5–7 PM by volunteers.

 

How You Can Help

• Move cars the night before to reduce morning shuffle.

• Place a temporary “No Parking” note for your driveway if needed.

• Offer yard seating or water jugs -- instant community points!

• Report any issues promptly at the info booth so we can address them fast.

• Place trash bins on the street and request a bin liner from the information booth.
